LAS VEGAS, March 9, 2007 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- Allegiant Air, LCC, a subsidiary of Allegiant Travel Company, (Nasdaq: ALGT) was recently honored with the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) Diamond Award of Excellence. The Diamond level award is the highest level of achievement in the AMT program. The award recognizes the airline and its eligible maintenance technicians for a 100 percent participation rate in the program.

"Allegiant has done an outstanding job at encouraging and providing the resources for its maintenance technicians and their continuing education," Art Jones, Manager for the FAA's Flight Standards District Office in Las Vegas, said. The AMT program was established in 1991 and honors aviation maintenance personnel and employers who participate in training opportunities that exceed FAA regulatory requirements. The Diamond Certificate of Excellence is the highest honor the program bestows on a company.
