PUNTA GORDA, Fla. Nov. 4, 2015 — Allegiant (NASDAQ: ALGT) today inaugurates nonstop flights to southwest Florida from Grand Rapids, Mich., Akron / Canton, Ohio and Kansas City, Mo. The company, known for its exceptional travel deals, is offering one-way fares to Fort Myers / Punta Gorda as low as $44*.
“We’re excited to launch new flights from these three markets, giving these communities a true ultra-low-cost opportunity to visit the sunny vacation destination of southwest Florida,” said Jude Bricker, Allegiant Travel Company senior vice president of planning. “We look forward to bringing more visitors and economic growth to the area.”
The new flights will operate twice weekly and expand on the service Allegiant currently operates to Punta Gorda Airport (PGD). The new flights will bring more than 61,000 additional visitors each year to southwest Florida and generate over an estimated $91.3 million in total visitor spending annually. Flight days, times and the lowest fares can be found only at Allegiant.com.
“We believe these routes will be very successful in bringing the Southwest Florida Sunshine to Western Michigan, Akron and Kansas City,” said Gary Quill, Punta Gorda Airport director. “The warm Gulf waters welcome you.”

It’s a perfect hub for exploring Florida’s Southwest Gulf Coast. We look forward to seeing your footprints in the sand.”
