PITTSBURGH. Feb. 11, 2016 — Allegiant (NASDAQ: ALGT) today celebrates the one year anniversary of its first flight from Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT). Nonstop flights to Tampa Bay via the St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE) took off on Feb. 11, 2015. Since then, Allegiant has expanded in Pittsburgh to offer nonstop, low-cost flights to eight sunny vacation destinations.
“We’re excited to celebrate this milestone in Pittsburgh, a city that has embraced Allegiant’s brand of low-cost travel unlike any other,” said Jude Bricker, Allegiant’s chief operating officer. “In just one year of service in Pittsburgh we’ve announced eight new nonstop routes from the city and recently established it as our 13th base of operations.”
On Feb. 19, 2016 Allegiant will also celebrate two inaugural flights from Pittsburgh International Airport to West Palm Beach via the Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) and New Orleans via the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY).
